The very modern yet simple lines of the sc117 give the yacht
a special spot in a class of her own. With no other yacht like

her owner and guests with the speed, comfort and safety

Performance.

The hull bottom of the sc117 was derived from that of a
racing catamaran. The shallow draft of 4’1 creates a lot
less drag as the vessel cuts through the surface of the
water at astonishing speeds of up to 65 knots. Once again
the shallow draft of the yacht gives it the upper hand in
choosing her cruising grounds, allowing her to cruise many
more options than that of a conventional monohull. The
sc117 will be propelled be either surface drives of water
jets. The yachts optimum cruising speeds will be in between
40 and 50 knots and exceed 60 knots. The catamaran offers
many advantages over conventional monohull yachts.
Catamarans offer not only more comfort at sea in the
harshest of conditions but also give you more efficiency at
lower running costs.

Catamarans have the great advantage of also being able to
run smaller engines while burning less fuel at the same time
giving more speed and range.
 

A social cat.

The sc 117 has a large number of choices when it comes to
where to lay down. The yacht offers different seating
arrangements from bow to stern (13 different choices). One
of the main attractions of the yacht is her unique u-shaped
bar that can sit up to 5 guest on the aft end of the bar and
3 on the forward end. The large space in the middle of the
bar gives ample room for you crew to tend to you and your
guest quickly and efficiently. Another great social feature of
the yact is the enormous hot tub/pool on the aft end which is
almost 10x8. When not in use the hot tub can be concealed
by placing and additional sunpad over it.

Numerous design features.

The sc117 has an array of hidden secrets that will allow you
travel with a large amount of toys completely hidden to the
naked eye. The large foredeck of the yacht conceals a large
hatch just forward of the windshield that opens up to a very
generous space that offers storage to whatever you choose,
from a 20’ ft inflatable to a small fleet of jet skis. A
concealed crane will be placed in the center of the storage
space so that you can easily deploy and retrieve your
tenders with quickness. Not only can you carry a fleet of
small boats on the bow, you also have a garage in the aft end
of each hull where you can comfortably carry up to two
midsize wave runners. Another great feature that the yacht
offers is a full service dive station on board where you and
your guest have the freedom to dive as much as you want.

Why a catamaran?

First, catamarans ride softer because they don't have a large,
round bottom that slams against the waves. Second, a
catamaran's twin hulls focus the buoyancy around the
outside of the boat, rather than in the middle, creating
greater initial stability. Third, the two narrow hulls generate
about one-third as much wetted surface, or drag, making the
boat more efficient. And last, the hulls place the engines
farther apart, increasing maneuverability.
Almost any Multihull will offer you a smoother ride in rough
water due to the dual hull design and the construction's
parachute effect as the boat crosscuts the waves. Air
trapped between the hulls cushions the impact of re-entry. As
the Catamaran does not land on the hull's centerline, like a
monohull would, the effects of the impact are spread over a
 

wider area. Load levels on a catamaran can be up to 20%
greater than a similar size monohull. Catamaran is
incrementally more stable as they do not pivot on the
centerline. The footprint is wider, helping to negate the
effects of rolling seas. All power catamarans have less hull
resistance in the water, resulting in greater fuel efficiency
(comparatively it takes less horsepower and fuel to
accomplish optimal performance in a power catamaran than in
a power monohull). The catamaran's shallow draft design
allows access to waterways that most conventional hulls
cannot navigate.

This unconventional design provides economical long distance
travel at rather high speeds. Any day, any weather, and the
rougher the better. In many countries, catamaran is used by
virtually every statutory or government authority dealing
with the ocean or waterways. This includes the Army, Navy,
and Rescue fleet. These type vessels are the future of
boating.
